E 3412 Wiring
a) Physical separation of electrical circuits of different types (as per paragraph 5.1.5.2 of standard
NF C15-100)
Where components with different currents or tensions passing through them are grouped together in a single
assembly (e.g. board, cabinet, control panel, switch panel, etc.), effective separation between components of
similar current or voltage characteristics shall be implemented to avoid any harmful interference between
them (EMC, thermocouple effect, thermal effect, etc.).
Operational tests shall be performed in order to check the efficiency of these provisions.
b) Electrical separation of electrical circuits performing different functions
Circuits performing distinct functions, e.g. analog control and analog protection circuits, shall be both
physically and electrically separated. Wiring, connectors and terminals shall be kept as far apart as possible.
Electrical separation of circuits performing different functions shall comply with the requirements of D 7500
and D 7600.
