Ampla Quality enables you to better analyze, report and manage product quality throughout the manufacturing cycle through the automatic real-time logging of qualitative data directly from the production control system, and by provision of manual or late-bound data from external systems such as LIMS. The delivery of more timely and accurate reports to key personnel allows better, more informed decision-making for improved output quality and control.

Business managers can now reliably report on KPIs such as first-pass quality, percentage rework, percentage reject, supplier quality, as well as measure the impact of fluctuating raw material quality on the plant output. Plant and Production managers can dynamically analyze quality problems via comprehensive ad-hoc and drill-down reporting. Quality Assurance managers can easily compare plant production outputs against specifications and environmental regulations, analyze quality implications and automate record keeping and reports.

Quality Analysis
Ampla Quality connects to multiple HMI/SCADA systems as well as business databases to collect all of the information it needs to clearly and accurately identify qualitative data to track all aspects of manufacture against pre-determined specifications in real-time. This includes both material quality as well as process targets such as pasteurization temperature, percentage silica or vision system inputs. Manual data entry is facilitated via the web client, while late-bound data from external systems is automatically imported to the common storage repository to ensure complete recording of all qualitative details for maximum analysis benefit. This also reduces costs and errors associated with manual data entry when transferring data between systems or from paper to electronic repository, freeing operators to focus on operational activities.

Operators and supervisors are alerted to out-of-specification events via a system alert messenger to assist in the timely entry or confirmation of information. This ensures that the data stored is as accurate as possible, and has been reviewed by operations prior to being used for decision-making. ‘Confirmation’ of individual events by authorized personnel also ensures no further changes are made to the recorded information without generating an audit trail of changes.

The Quality client is delivered via the web and has full filter, search, reporting and diagnostics capabilities enabling even remote personnel to accurately diagnose problems and prioritize resolutions. The client tools provide high-level summary displays with full drill-down capabilities to the raw data beneath to clearly identify root causes of systemic problems. Navigation is achieved via an explorer tree that typically mimics the physical hierarchy of the plant, however quality information can also be analyzed by product type using cross-hierarchy referencing facilities. This allows quality analysis to be performed across production lines and product types, generating far more meaningful reports for different personnel. Data is ‘rolled up’ the hierarchy, so that higher levels aggregate the data stored in lower branches of the tree, making summary reporting a breeze. Crystal Reports is integrated into the client so that customized reports can be published remotely to the web browser, with full interactive capabilities to the navigation tree and filter options. This delivers a powerful method of quality analysis, with strong customization capabilities inside an easy-to-use interface.
