The MC202 is able to control upto 1 1/2 axis of servo motion, 2 axis of stepper motion, the MC206 is able to control up to 7 1/2 axes, the MC224, 24 axes and uses a higher performance CPU configuration. Axes are added using daughter boards, these are available is several variants to allow the different positioning actuation and feedback to be used within the same system. E.g. either encoder or resolver feedback connected to a servo drive. This system makes the MC range very flexible, the MC206 and MC224 are shipped without daughter boards so that the MC can be configured to meet each individual application. The MC224 has provision for four daughter boards (the MC206 will except one additional daughter board). If additional are required these are housed in expansion modules (4 daughter boards per expansion module). The MC controllers have built in digital IO, which may be expanded through the use of CAN bus connected IO modules.
