Senior Electrical Engineer ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: FUNCTIONAL ·Demonstrate markedly superior skills and achievements in design and development of extremely cost sensitive industrial sensors. Knowledge of adjacent disciplines including optical and mechanical engineering is required. ·Responsible with Industrialization Engineering for the design of product lines for efficient manufacturing. Invents, innovates and designs the product. ·Develops and executes qualification test plan in accordance with RA and agency (CE, UL, CSA) procedures. ·Solves issues of performance, quality, yield in products and coordinates same with suppliers ·Deliver new product on schedule, at cost and at budget. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: ·B.S. Electrical Engineering, B.S. Physics, or equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: ·Eight to ten years in engineering department. KNOWLEDGE: ·Ability to design sensor products which can be manufactured for extremely low cost is essential. Working knowledge of low current analog design required. ·Knowledge of local sources of supply of inexpensive, high quality electrical components including LEDs, solid state lasers, photodetectors, ASICs, commercial ICs, discrete analog components, connectors, and cable is essential. ·Establish and effect qualification tests for new electro optical components ·Ability to utilize analytical and mathematical skills appropriate to responsibilities. ·Should have experience with adjacent product areas such as consumer products, video, digital cameras, CD drives and be able to apply principles to an industrial environment. ·Must be proficient in the use of circuit analysis software. ·Must have strong analytical and computational skills to complete electrical tolerance studies. ·Must be knowledgeable of designing extremely low power analog circuitry ·Must be knowledgeable of applicable UL, CSA and CE and Chinese approval agency requirements ·Must be knowledgeable of designing low level logic and microcontroller circuitry, and assembly language programming ·Must be capable of defining engineering tests to support designs. ·Resolve complex technical cross-functional issues regarding component selections, design, testing, reliability, meeting product costing target, and on-going product improvements. ·Familiar with diverse environmental issues, in areas such as product packaging, thermal design, materials selection. ·Familiarity with basic product documentation methods. ·Ability to make appropriate and effective use of oral and written English to communicate, cooperate and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups.
