Choosing an Isolator Range
Four ranges of MTL isolating interface units are available. These provide alternatives to shunt-diode safety barriers for protecting electrical circuits in hazardous areas. They isolate the electrical circuits in the hazardous area from those in the safe area and, since they do not need a high-integrity earth, are easier to apply than barriers. Also, because they allow the circuits to be earthed at some other point, they do not constrain the earthing arrangements. Isolators are normally designed for specific applications, further simplifying selection. In many cases additional features such as signal amplification, signal conversion and relays are also included。
