RSView ME : Cannot connect to Addin object; Application Handler; HRESULT: 0x8004204E Error.
Question
When starting RSView Studio ME, the following errors pop up:
Factory Talk Studio
Cannot connect to Addin object
Name: Application Handler
Cause: 80042089
If you try to run Factory Talk Directory Configuration Wizard you may see error:
"HRESULT: 0x8004204E" (Also may see a message regarding failure to access $System).
Answer
Uninstall FactoryTalk Services Platform, disable security and virus software and re-install FactoryTalk Services Platform.
If the issue persist
Try to open all the ports in the Firewall and reboot the system.
