If an attempt is made to open the WinCC project via the SIMATIC Manager, the following error message appears:
"s7omwinx - Opening the project failed. Database context does not exist or is invalid."
If the SIMATIC Manager is closed and then restarted, the OS can only be compiled successfully once. If an attempt is made to compile the OS a further time, the above error messages appear again. If the SIMATIC Manager is closed and then restarted, compilation can be performed again once successfully.
Cause:
This error message can occur in PCS 7 V7.0 if the driver for the network card which is used for the terminal bus has not been successfully installed.
Remedy:
Install the correct driver for the network card and restart the computer. This clears the error message.
The current OS hardware generally possesses network cards which are integrated onto the computer's motherboard. If you use a standalone system on which there is no need for the terminal bus, the network card must be installed and ready for use
