The Step to Build the Communication Between Rexroth OPC Server and HMI OPC Client in a Separate Computer
This procedure includes three parts: setting computer domain or workgroup, setting DCOM, setting HMI.
Part One: Setting Computer Domain or Workgroup
Building the communication between OPC server and client in tow separate computers requires this two computers must be in a same domain or workgroup. The following figure shows how to set the computer’s workgroup.
After setting the two computers in a same domain or workgroup, set the DCOM.
Part Two: Setting DCOM
OPC Server Settinng:
1. Open DCOM. DCOMCNFG can be run by selecting StartRun and typing dcomcnfg at the Open: prompt.
2. Select the tab Default Properties. Turn on DCOM for this computer node by checking the option “Enable Distributed COM on this computer”. Set the “Default Authentication Level” to (None). Set the “Default Impersonation Level” to Identify.
3. Select the tab Applications. Double click on the application labeled OPC Indramat Server Version 3.0. This brings up another set of tabs used for custom DCOM security settings for the OPC server.
4. Select the General tab. Set the “Authentication Level” option to (None).
5. Select the Location tab. Check the “Run application on this computer” option. Ensure all other options are not checked.
6. Select the Security tab. Select the “Use custom access permissions” option. Edit the ACL to include the group Everyone with the Type of Access: set to Allow Access.
7. On the Security tab, select the “Use custom launch permissions” option. Edit the ACL to include the group Everyone with the Type of Access: set to Allow Launch.
8. On the Security tab, select the “Use custom launch permissions” option. Edit the ACL to include the group Everyone with the Type of Access: set to Full Control.
OPC Client Settinng:
